Last week I spent the day off exploring Maudslay State Park equipped with only a micro lens, wide angle lens, my Nikon, my trusty Pentax Super ME, a Snapple Peach Tea, and iPod shuffle full of metal. If you haven’t traveled through the woods listening to Colony of Birchmen by Mastodon, you haven’t lived. I heard the area was supposedly haunted so I figured some photographs would be necessary. There were some interesting finds but since it was an 80 degree day at about 2:00 in the afternoon, It was a great place to hide from the chaos of the every day. I ended up at a bay area, the only problem was getting down the cliff that was at a 95 degree angle. I managed to make it down to the tiny, isolated part of paradise just as the sun went down a little. Feeling like i needed to be grounded to the earth I took my shoes off, tossed my socks and stood in the water for a while. You could say I was in somewhat of a medicative meditative state for a while, trying to shake the negative energy. Definitely what I needed on a sun-filled day off. As for the photos that were taken, It was just as much an exploration and it was an experimentation. The results were as follows:

Ah! You are a great writer as well. I’m so glad you shared this since I’m not really likely to be traveling through the woods listening to your man Mastodon and I can live vicariously through your very talented multi expressive modes of communication.
Thanks Jim! I’m glad you enjoyed! Hope all is well
Dude, was just at Maudslay the other day. It was incredible, and of course, Mastodon only boosts the experience.
that palace is pretty amazing and i’m pretty sure I only saw 1/3 of it. agreed!
